Dr. James Willis, DDS

Co-Founder

Dr. James Willis co-founded My Harrisonburg Dentist with his partner Dr. Sang Kim. Together they built the practice around a simple belief: every patient deserves compassionate, expert care from people they trust. Day to day, care at the Medical Avenue office is in the hands of Dr. Kevin Hu, and that is by design: a practice strong enough to stand on its lead dentist, with a founder who keeps the standard where he set it.

Dr. Willis earned his DDS from West Virginia University School of Dentistry in Morgantown, where he still serves the school as a member of its Alumni Board of Governors. Over nearly two decades of practice in Virginia, his work has earned Family Favorite awards and Top Dentist recognition from Virginia Living magazine.

As co-founder, his role at My Harrisonburg Dentist is what you would expect of a senior partner: setting the clinical standard, mentoring the team, and making sure the practice runs the way he would want it run for his own family. He does not see patients at this location; your care is with Dr. Hu and the Medical Avenue team.

Dr. Willis is committed to giving back to Harrisonburg and the Shenandoah Valley, and is a proud supporter of St. Jude, Young Life, and local schools.
