Dr. Kevin Hu, DDS, PhD, MS

Lead Dentist

Dr. Kevin Hu leads the team at Harrisonburg Dentist and is dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality dental care that helps patients feel comfortable and confident throughout their treatment. He completed advanced training in General Dentistry at the University of Rochester Eastman Institute for Oral Health and earned a PhD in Orthodontics from The University of Hong Kong.

Dr. Hu enjoys all aspects of comprehensive dentistry and values building long-term relationships with his patients. He takes the time to listen to each patient's concerns, explain treatment options clearly, and develop personalized treatment plans tailored to their individual needs.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Hu is actively involved in dental education and research. He has published extensively in international peer-reviewed journals and has contributed to the teaching and training of dental students and residents. He believes that combining evidence-based dentistry with compassion allows him to provide the highest quality of care.

Dr. Hu completed his Advanced Education in General Dentistry and a Master of Science in Dental Science at the University of Rochester's Eastman Institute for Oral Health, and earned his PhD in Orthodontics from The University of Hong Kong, where he received the HKU Presidential PhD Award. He has passed the written examination of the American Board of General Dentistry, serves on the editorial board of BDJ Open (part of the Nature Publishing Group's British Dental Journal portfolio), and has authored more than a dozen peer-reviewed studies cited hundreds of times by other researchers.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Hu enjoys staying current with advances in the profession, traveling, and exploring new cultures.
